The 2016 Branch Photo Competition was held at the February 2017 meeting and featured 66 entries. The competition was separated into flying and ground shots with a top 3 in each voted for on the evening.

2nd place Falcon 20 053 of the Royal Norwegian Air Force was taken by Nigel Kemp at North Weald on 17/07/2016
The Winning shot was VH-OEF 747 Qantas departing Stansted taken by Andrew Goldsmith on 29/12/2016
